Microsoft Store /Xbox Killer Instinct Definitive Edition not working

Purchased DE edition for PC. When loaded the only option it has is to load KI and exit DE. I see others online with this issue. Is there a fix ? Windows 11, fully updated OS and game.

You are referring to the the main launcher, correct? We understand there have been problems with other aspects of the product that we weren't involved in, but yours is the first report to reach us of an issue with the main launcher. We can't promise anything since it's been seven years since we've been in contact with Microsoft about the launcher, but we'd love to resolve the issue if possible. Can you provide more details or point us to these other sources? When did the problem start happening (e.g. after a particular Windows update)? A video of the issue would be very helpful.

This is the first time I bought the game, so I bought the DE edition. The DE launcher preview shows several versions of the game from the loader but mine only has the original KI. Screenshot attached. I'm on W11 verison 22H2 OS build 22621.1485

It's the first time I saw the first link today which is exactly how I ran into the issue. Missed the game, looked it up, people said its more active on Microsoft Xbox. Went to the microsoft store and saw DE on sale. Bought it, loaded it, no characters available except the free rotation character and maybe one other. When selecting to purchase in the game and on the store it clearly shows we already own the DE version.

I reached out to Microsoft first, which pushed me to XBOX support, which pushed me to the "Developer". Their only suggestion was to reset the microsoft store with the WSRESET command, or reinstall the game, which I and many others have already tried.

Ah, OK. So this isn't what we thought. We're afraid Microsoft gave you bad advice. This is the same issue people were previously mistakenly directed to us for (as you note in the link to the other topic in our forums, above). We are not the developers of Killer Instinct 2013, and we have no involvement in the DLC entitlements. We asked them to update their Customer Service advice, but they don't seem to have done so.

We're only responsible for that launcher you've screenshotted, and the Special Features section on that menu. Nothing else. The launcher is a separate app from the game and has no connection to the game or its DLC. On the Xbox version, we did do Killer Instinct Classic and Killer Instinct 2 Classic, as well, but those are console exclusives, and not even available in the Windows version.

Microsoft's internal team prepared the Killer Instinct: Definitive Edition bundle, which assembled our launcher, Killer Instinct as developed by Iron Galaxy, and all the DLC. Whether their Customer Service know it or not, it should be Microsoft themselves you need to follow up with about DLC entitlement issues. Sorry we can't be of more help.

Summary: Microsoft Customer Support is mistaken. Their internal studios were responsible for the bundling of the entitlements which are currently malfunctioning. We only did the Special Features component.
