Goldeneye Missing controls

Post by nate7383 »

Recently purchased Goldeneye, and what you guys did with it is beautiful. So happy to have it back and more beautiful and smooth than ever. But one thing that is missing from the original is the ability to scroll backwards through your weapons. On N64 you could hit "A"(change weapons) and "Z" (fire) simultaneously to change your guns backwards. It may seem small but it can be quite significant when playing at higher difficulty levels.

For example in the Control Room you have to use the remote mines several times. Rather than hitting "A" once to switch to remote mines, and then quickly scrolling back one, you must now scroll through all of your guns to get back to where you were, while under fire and trying to beat the clock. It's quite frustrating.

So if you could do an update to include that, admittedly not commonly known feature, it would be very much appreciated.

Otherwise thanks for doing a great good of bringing back one of the best games of all time!

If you are referring to the Xbox version, the customisable control scheme allows you to map a button to Weapon- (as opposed to the usual Weapon+), which should accomplish what you want. We had no involvement in the Switch version.

Turns out while this did solve the issue of not having the weapon- by linking it to the unused "Y" button, doing so causes the aim feature to stop working properly. The red crosshairs come up on the screen, but all movement and look controls function as though the aim button was not activated.

I was using the 1.1 Honey control style.
