Purchased both of these games off of Steam today, but having issues with BGM not playing. Some of the songs will be recognized when I use BGM Check and all sound effects are working.
Both games are installed into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam and are running off the internal boot drive in Boot Camp.
Things I've tried to resolve the issue:
Reinstall C++ Redistributables
Reinstall the bundled DX
Compatibility mode in Windows
That's unusual. The background music and game sound effects are all generated by emulation. It should not be possible for it to play some but not others.
Which music is not playing? There are some cases where music didn't play in the original KOF97 (and this is a recreation of that AES ROM). Is it outside those situations?

The only songs that play in BGM Check:
Decision of Fate
Last Feast
Spider String
R-Bite
Art of Fight
Destiny
Re:Bloody
Cutting Edge
Save the Universe
Geese with Mustard
But nothing ever plays during battle. Nothing plays during the menu.
Music does not play in the menu. Music should play during battle if BGM LEVEL is set to a volume other than 0. You are saying that even in that case, the music you listed that plays in the BGM CHECK does not play in-game? Is there any music during the character select screen?

The music that works in BGM Check will play for about 15 seconds then cut off. There is music during the character selection screen.
