No audio on King of Fighters 98 Ultimate Match Final Edition

Hello!
I've just bought this game to have some fun, recently some of my friends and me have been playing the original version at work on a arcade machine. I have the game on Steam and I am able to install it correctly. Once I load it there is no audio at all! I've spent hours to search for a fix with no success. I believe that the problem might be because of a DirectX dependency that is missing/faulty but I've already installed all the DirectX stuff that I should need from the commonRedist folder! Is it possible to know if there is a specific .dll that the game is using for audio purposes? If so, this might be helpful to be to solve the problem.
